Guinea carved Professional Djembes
These were shipped from Conakry this August and the djembes have all the improvements you can imagine. Beautiful wood shells were collected for months and then turned over to the finest djembe finish carvers in Conakry. They truly honored this gorgeous wood with their skill. Add an imported Danish Oil and wax finish to really bring out the beauty and grain. Headed by the best craftsman in Guinea, with quality American rope, these drums SING!! I don't have any problem declaring these are the best built and sounding professional djembe drums in the world. You simply cannot find anywhere a better djembe drum.

Khadi / Khari / Hare wood drums

This tall fully carved light Khadi wood drum has a beautiful rosette design in relief on both trumpet and bowl. It has a medium white skin with a growley tone. The Khadi (Khari, Hare) wood is rich and varied in grain, protected by a rubber base. It has good bass and and is a showpiece of a lead drum!

This drum is gorgeous, pure Khadi heart wood. Besides great shape and form it has some of the best carving I have seen. the design is classic guinea; waves at the bottom, mountains in the middle, the cloudy filled sky above. It is perfectly sound, ornamented with brass and chrome studs. Strap hook and protected by a rubber base, A hair off medium skin gives it sweet low tones. Crank this one till it roars!

Akajou / Djala wood drums

This simply carved akajou wood drums is another "old soul". It has a simple accent carving at the bottom and yellow ring rope. It is all wood and shape and form. A medium hair off skin, with strap loop and rubber base. This drums rich tone speaks the loudest.

This tall akajou wood drum is step carved on both trumpet and bowl bottom. It has rows of finely carved angles (mountains) and staccato dots (clouds). Young orangish wood here, but completely sound and a shape and form to create great sounds. It has a thin rolled edge skin held with red rope. Gift yourself clear tones, a piercing slap, and low bass.

Lengue / Lenke wood drums

This large Lengue wood drum is large enough for a great accompaniment drum but also built and shaped to be a roaring lead drum. It has a rolled edge style spotted medium skin. Carved of flawless sound wood, the detailed step carving is on a perfect form. Rarely does great construction, form, and wood come together on a larger drum. Great tones and slaps, and a bass that shakes the dishes!
